Earth had two Moons?

Isus Krist: New scientific theory suggests that Earth once had another satellite - second, smaller moon that went missing in a collision with the "big brother".
The research was presented in the new issue of Nature, and shows that this collision could explain how they came to the mountains on the other side of the moon, which is not visible from Earth. It is suspected that the low speed collisions, estimated at 2.4 kilometers per second, could cause such an accumulation of material in one hemisphere. Theory assessment should receive next year, when the two NASA's lunar mission to collect the necessary data.
Many theories have previously tried to explain the kind of lunar dichotomy, which is reflected in the fact that one hemisphere flat with small recesses of craters, while the other has mountain ranges over 3000 meters. Some believe the cause could be tidal heating of the earth caused by gravitational forces in the ocean of molten rock, which existed under the crust of the moon.
Scientists believe that this earth before about four billion years hit another planet the size of Mars. Material created by collision gradually gathered and formed the Moon. However, the authors believe that the new theory is the same material could have caused a smaller moon who was crucified by the gravitation of the Moon and Earth.
